Your recordings, and everything the app works out about how you spoke, stay on your iPhone. They are never uploaded.
The app does send a small amount of anonymous diagnostic and usage information, so we can tell when something is broken and which parts of the app people actually use. It never contains your recordings, your words, or your results. You can turn it off in Settings.
Your audio recordings are written to the app's own container on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. They are never uploaded.
Your practice history, your settings, and the delivery measurements the app computes are stored in a database inside the same container, on your device.
Speech is transcribed on your device so the app can work out things like speaking pace and filler words. The transcript is discarded once those numbers exist. A few short quoted phrases are kept alongside your recording, so the review can show you a crutch word in context rather than only a count.
For practicing, recording, playback, transcription and measurement: nothing. Those work with the phone in airplane mode.
The diagnostics described above leave the device, and buying the one-time unlock does too. Everything else stays put.
On the unlock: That is handled by Apple's App Store, which needs a connection to load the price and complete the purchase. Apple tells the app whether you own the unlock. Apple does not tell the app who you are, and the app never sends Apple anything about your practice.
If you back up your iPhone, that backup includes your recordings, the same as any other app's data. The backup is yours and you control it in iOS Settings.
The app reports crashes and errors, and counts things like how often a practice session is finished or abandoned. We use it to find bugs and to decide what to work on next.
What it contains: the name of an event ("session finished"), a few fixed labels that go with it, such as whether you granted the microphone permission. Your device model, iOS version, and the country and language your phone is set to. And a random identifier created when you install the app, which is not your Apple Account and which deleting the app destroys.
What it can never contain: your recordings, anything you said, the questions you practised, or your pace, pause and filler numbers. The app is built so they cannot reach it.
Turn it off any time in Settings. When it is off, nothing is sent.
There is no advertising, and no tracking. Nothing about you is combined with data from other companies or shared with data brokers, so you will not see an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Transcription runs on your device. The app explicitly requires on-device recognition on every path that could otherwise fall back to a server, and an automated check fails the build if that setting is ever weakened. Your speech is not sent to Apple for recognition, and it is not sent to us.
The voice that reads the questions aloud is AI-generated. It was recorded ahead of time and the audio files are bundled inside the app, so it plays with no connection. It only speaks the questions. It does not hear, process or transmit your answers. This is also disclosed inside the app, in Settings.
There are none. Nothing to sign up for, no email address to give, no password.
The app is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
Because nothing is collected, there is no data of yours for us to access, export, correct or delete. Everything the app holds is already on your device and under your control. Deleting the app removes all of it. Settings also has a Delete recordings action if you want to clear recordings without deleting the app.
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted here with a new date at the top.
